Trisha has been a supporter of PETA since long and she recently made statements about the traditional Jallikattu on her Twitter account.
Following this, she faced lot of hatred in Twitter and angry protestors even mobbed her at her shooting location. Trisha was deeply hurt by the proceedings and eventually decided to deactivate her Twitter account. She tweeted “I’m a Tamilian and I support @peta @petaindia cruelty to animals no matter how old the traditions are is no justification. #BanJallikattu. Disrespecting a woman and her family is Tamil culture? You should be ashamed to call yourself a Tamilian or even speak about Tamil culture,” Trisha posted this after getting hate messages on Twitter.
