Must know facts about Siachen Glacier and the brave soldiers
Little do we know about Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battlefield. Geographically, Siachen is an integral part of Jammu Kashmir and it is a 75 km long glacier, located in the eastern Karakoram Range of the Himalayas, making it a part of India. It lies to the north of Point NJ 9842, where the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan ends. Siachen has been an important part of India since 1984, when Indian army beat Pakistan and took control of the glacier.
